Race to the Park

It was a beautiful day in spring. It was the kind of morning that made one appreciate all the joys and beauties of life. It had been a long winter and finally the earth came to life again.

I stepped outside and deeply inhaled the fresh air. I closed my eyes and smiled, listening to the birds singing, smelling the scents of springtime, savoring the warm, gentle breeze upon my face.

I silently thanked God for this day and for making me healthy enough to enjoy it. I opened my eyes and looked down the street toward the park, half a dozen blocks away. Excited, I said to God, "Let's run! I'll race you to the park!"

He answered saying, "I win!"

"What do you mean?" I asked Him. "We have not even started."

And he replied, "I am already there."
